Kathy is a gifted runner I met thru Up And Running Again. After coming off a disappointing race at the Long Beach Half Marathon she asked me about doing a bounce back race five weeks after Long Beach to try and set a new PR. Once I looked at her numbers from Long Beach and after a five day recovery period I assigned Kathy a very short hard training block in advance of her goal race.

 As I monitored her workouts I found out that Kathy has an amazing capacity to recover quickly. On race day at the Mission Inn Half, Kathy felt prepared and race ready. I think I was more nervous than she was as her previous race was such a disappointment for her. As I watched the clock the first men came in and then the first two females followed by Kathy! Kathy not only had her PR but was the third overall female! Congratulations Kathy on a great race!
